"I just think Grissom will take Warricks death badly, will be shocked and surprised at finding out that the killer is the sheriff, maybe the Natalie Davis trial will take place and she will either get released or something else shocking will happen during the trial, I think Sara will tell him she wants to return to San Fransisco to spend time with her mother and that she will not return to her former line of work in Vegas, leaving him in turmoil as to whether he should remain at the lab after everything that has happened, or follow his heart and a new career path teaching forensics etc. I think he will go to see his friend Heather to seek her help in making his life changing decision, then deciding to follow Sara will marry her and will decide to teach but working for the LVPD in a consultant capacity, leaving it open for him to reappear at any time in future episodes with possibly Sara doing the same. That is my theory reading between the lines of all the articles and hints we have been getting. I think if CBS have picked out two good new interesting characters and the crime plot lines are still good, i can't see any reason why the show couldn't go on past season 9.

"They only have ten episodes to cover why Grissom will want to leave, and since each episode is basiclly 40 minutes long with 20 minutes of mindless interuptions (Commercials) the writers are going to have to be more brillant than they already are to explain it.
A) the entire crew will be devistated by what ever happens to Warrick.

B) Natalie Davis.....Trial......Insanity......Sara......to much for just one episode or two.

C) Lady Heather I see her as a sounding board for Grissom, someone who has benefitted from his kindness in the past and come back into his life to return the favor.

D) The corruption in the Police department should be addressed and in the end the fact that the UnderSherrif was responsible for what's happened to Warrick will shake up everyone but I don't see it just affecting Grissom. Brass, who has past experience with police corruption, would be more affected than anyone else.

E) Grissom will decide that after nearly 25 years of investigating crime, death and mayham maybe it's time to investigate life, love and the future. I don't see him quitting but retiring from CSI and moving to SF to be with Sara. Before she left Grissom had started that study about bumblebees. I can see him becoming a professor of Enviromental Studies. If he retires then he could be called back to help on exceptional cases, Sara because she quit might have problems coming back, Ecklie and all.

The new characters well lets just see ............."

"Why would they bring her back if she hasn't recovered. The determination would have been made already that she wasn't competant to stand trial but that doesn't make the murder charges go away. If she recovers then the charges can be brought against her 4 murders, 1 count of kidnapping, and 1 count of attempted murder. "
