"On the CBS.com CSI community someone has posted the supposed plot line for "Bottom of the Barrel Parts 1&2" it's a Catherine/Brass episode involving the return of Leo/Dean James character from 1000 days on earth epi. According to the poster its a violent and bloody episode involving the kidnappin and torture of Brass and Catherine and in the end Grissom kills Leo/Dean. If Sara comes back this season or at the beginning of the next, that would be the reason, to comfort Grissomn and help him get past the guilty of killing someone, even if that someone harmed beloved friends of his.

With all the things I've read lately TPTB are going to be busy working up ways to send Grissom and Catherine out of CSI. I hope that at least one of them stays on past Season 9 because I don't like any of the other CSI wannabe or clones that are out there."

"The episode plotline involved Cath and Brass being held by and tortured by Leo/Dean because he holds them responsible for the lose of his girl, job and place to live. Grissom is supposed to find them and is forced to shoot Leo/Dean. All CSI, no matter what rank, are required to carry a gun for their own protection and like cops are required to train and keep their shoot scores above a certain level or they're not allowd to do field work.

I don't know if any of this is true, I'm just reporting what I read on the CBS CSI Community site. From the details posted there the two episodes sound very violent and bloody and if it's true then the cliffhanger for this year is going to be more horrible than last year and I still haven't recovered from last years. But we do know that A) Billy has signed for 1 year with the agreement he can leave to do a play in Nov/Dec and B) that MH wants the writer's to give Catherine a proper send off. TPTB truely have their work cut out for Season 9 and beyond."
