Backstory:
Sofia Curtis started as a detective following her mother's footsteps.A bit before getting her badge,her boss volunteered her at the Crime Scene Unit.In the end,she managed to return back at the homicide division
Personal demons:
- At one time, Sofia thought she was guilty in accidentally shooting Officer Bell. It turned out to be Jim Brass who shot him. (A Bullet Runs Through It)
Defining Cases (or Episodes):
- A Bullet Runs Through It:Sofia believes she may be responsible for the friendly fire that killed Officer Bell. When she goes to Grissom for comfort and guidance, Sara reminds her that she's breaking procedure by being in the building. Sofia goes on to give Sara the cold shoulder in the episode Werewolves when she dusts the telephone booth without authorization.
- Monster (in a Box):Sofia unknowingly watches a fellow police officer die through carbon monoxide poisoning while they are attempting to lure the Miniature Killer. Again she goes to Grissom to talk about it.
Deep Dark Secret:
- Secretly has a crush on grissom.
- Her mom was always disappointed that she became a CSI and wanted her to remain a police officer instead.
Trivia:
- Has been the longest Detective on the show, besides Jim Brass.

- Showed a protective nature for Grissom to protect the breaking up of his CSI team. Could be she does harbor a secret love for Grissom.

Can someone tell me why her name is spealt Det. Sophia Curtis in the episode Lab Rats, as well as on the season 6 box set interview? It says Louise Lombard as Sophia Curtis.. Yet on all the sites I see it as Sofia, and on the closed captions as well as 1 interview. Is the favored spelling with an F because of Sofia Milos? or is that the way she [the character] spells it and who ever wrote the episode, typed the name up wrong on the report they showed a close up of that said, Det. Sophia Curtis? I would really hate to spell her name wrong. I am a huge fan of the character, and like most who get upset when Sidle is spealt Sidel, I want to know the correct spelling of Det. Curtis's first name so I am not spelling it wrong.

uggg! i cannot stand her!!! because i dont like her, i usually dont like any other people, at my school, named sofia!!! that works out because a person i hate has the name sofia for her spanish name
