ROOKIEFAN What happened to today's (4/17/08) New Episode? 0 Apr 17 2008, 10:08 PM EDT by ROOKIEFAN

The writers' strike kept us waiting all those months. We finally started watching new episodes two weeks ago. Season 8 will be over at the beginning of May. Today, I anxiously turned on the TV at 9:00 PM to see a new episode and got hit with a repeat instead (802-A La Cart). What the hell is going on? Is CBS playing mind games with CSI fans? Hopefully, it won't happen again. Maybe, next week, they'll air two new episodes.

Okay, this is me venting about the episode of CSI that aired Thursday night, January 10.

First off, the beginning wasn’t too farfetched, yes, that was Ty Murray, and yes he is the president of the PBR this year. So far, so good. About 15 minutes into the episode, Nick and Greg found the Ford super duty, and low and behold, there was a registration in the glove box proving it was the DB’s from Elk City, Oklahoma. This is where I start with the problems. One, Elk City is not that big of a town, TWO, Oklahoma is a non title holding state. The only, ONLY one in the country. We do NOT, NOT, get proof of registration to carry around in the vehicles. The only thing you get is your insurance verification, and you have to obviously have a driver’s license. I mean, I know this was all done before the writers strike, and I’m behind them 100%, but I mean come on. Can no one do just a smidgen of research before they write the damn episode? How can they get everything else scientific accurate, but miss something as literally as small as a piece of paper. It just baffled me to no end.

Three, those bulls are worth a TON of money. Just like our horses, when they are at big events like that, security is hired, and every owner gets someone to watch the bulls. That, and where they are kept is lighted, and there are always people around. I just have a problem with all of this. There is no way in hell, two people could separate one bull from a lot of around 10, run him into a chute just to collect him. Even if the one dude was like I work for the owner, people would be watching them the whole time.

Anyway, I can’t help but call this the worst episode of CSI, I have ever seen. I only hope after the strike, everything gets back on track.

I live in Scotland and as such I have only seen up to 'The Chick Chop Flick Shop' and I have to say...season 8 has so far been a major dissapiontment to me.

I mean lets start with 'Dead Doll'...complete let down. We had to wait for months with a ridiculous amount of hype in the lead up to the premier of the episode. So everybody sits down to watch and are treated to an hour of CSIs abandoning all perspectives of rational thought and endless shots of...desert. Why would Sara...an educated woman, abandon the scarlet red beacon of the car??? They actually found the car before her so if she would have stayed there she would have saved herself a lot of trouble and the viewers a lot of repetitive, tiresome shots of sand. Also its not a good sign when in the first episode of a brand new season, lengthy clips of other episodes are used...I mean surely they could have thought up something more poinient for Nick and Sara's realationship than an old Gum Drops clip they dug up from the archives. And the miniture killer arc was the one of the best ideas any television show has ever created and in one episode it is scrapped. No follow up to Natalie Davis, No real harm done to Sara...the whole episode was a waste of time...and it lost my attention half the way through...for the first time ever in CSI.

'A la Cart' started out with such ambition and it once again failed. I mean the whole thing with Ecklie took over the episode for no reason...if a punishment was handed out for the total violation of lab policy...then maybe yes but instead we were treated to some phaffing about. Sara voluntered to move to swing. Lovlely way to bypass a major obstacle.
Now 'Go to Hell' I must say was on par. Excellent story, brilliant acting and all in all, what I watch the show for.
'The case of the cross dressing carp and 'The chick chop flick shop'.didn't have any real purpose did they? Grissom ask Sara to marry him...continued
