of 7, Warrick's mother died, and his grandmother became his caregiver. He never met his father. He grew up in a strict household with his grandmother. When he was a boy, he used to be a casino runner (someone who jots down sports bets and runs between casinos to place those bets), which he hid from his grandmother. Warrick, apparently, was "a ghost" in high school but he still "got a little action". In season 3, we learn that Warrick was influenced by a community organizer who ran a center that Warrick spent time at after school. Warrick worked as a taxi driver, a bell captain at the Sahara, selling helicopter rides over the Grand Canyon and a grave digger. Warrick has lived with a gambling addiction for most of his life, and it has cause a lot of trouble in his life. His addiction has interfered several times with his work. One incident, which he left a new CSI, Holly Gribbs, alone at a crime scene, to go place a bet. Holly was shot while investigating the scene. She later dies from the wound. Thankfully, Grissom doesn't fire him for his mistake.

I feel so honored...Thank you so very much...When I think of Warrick these words come to mind:
ABOVE EVERY GRAVE, A LOVED ONE GRIEVES UNDER EVERY HEADSTONE, A HERO RESTS A hero named Warrick Brown was laid to rest beside his grandmother who had raised him at such a young age. A man and a show that I have watched , never missing an episode in 8 years took a piece of my heart when he took his last breath in the arms of a man who thought of Warrick as a son, and Warrick if having his choice would have chose "Grissom" to be his father...I watched this man go through so many up and downs, he's fought so many demons (both onscreen and off) and I really think he as a MAN, has grown tired. As most know he has been battling a drug addiction both on and off screen..He has been through things we as a fan, could never imagine. I will forever miss Warrick Brown. To me CSI is forever changed. I will remain loyal to the show as there is still a night crew in Vegas who still needs our support...Warrick/ Gary...I am so proud to have had you in my life (if only through a television show) . Warrick Brown, I will forever remember your beautiful smile that brought a smile to my own face. I will never forget how you came so close to loosing it when your friend Nick was kidnapped. You became a part of me and my life. I watched you for 8 years..From a shy, soft spoken person, to a self-assured, confident man. You grew from a boy to a man right before my eyes. To me, you will always be the proof that "people can change". To Gary Dourdan.I wish you nothing less than the very best in your future decisions. Everyone makes mistakes in their life at one time or another...what matters is that something is learned from the mistake and I know without a shadow of a doubt that you are a fighter and you will succeed where ever life takes you. And always know that a piece of my heart will forever be with you. Thanks for the memories. Sherry
