He not only gets on my nerves but he is scary, he completely creeps me out. And you know what I wonder why do they call him Hodges? Why not call him by his first name?

"I think he kind of likes being "Hodges" rather than David as being called bu your second name gives you a kind of cop feel" doesnt give me the feeling of being a cop i just hate my first name. but with a last name like "Hodges" who wouldnt wanna be called by their last name? i mean everybody calls grissom "grissom" even sara. i just think sometimes ur first name isnt as likable as ur last name. or like hodges and me, a bunch of people have ur first name. but i still love hodges he makes me laugh and he really means well

"I always seem to forget about Bobby Dawson. Unfortunately he's not included in the "Lab Rat" stuff. Maybe he's not really a "lab rat" per-se because on both "Lab rat-related episodes he wasn't really involved as part of the lab rat "team" in "Lab Rats" Hodges invited Henry, Archie and Mandy to try to find similarities in the mini killers miniatures, but excludes Bobby. (and Wendy ... at first) Then in You kill me - he wasn't asked to join them to play the "thought experiment" hodges had him being "accused" by brass all the time. Poor Bobby!. LOL
" Aww poor Bobby! Every one seems to forget about him... I suppose he is not classed as a "lab rat" cos he's a gun guy? That bit was soo funny at the end when Brass shouts "Gun" And empties his magnum on him, and you hear Bobby go down as Brass blows his gun.. Haahaahaahaaahahaa!! Awww!

"Remember the GSR scene when Sara Shaves Griss's beard??? well we need a wedges scene with Wendy colouring Hodges Black Hairs grey with a marker..Ha Ha Ha : )" What would be funnier is if he asks her to help him dye his hair black or brown or whatever his natural colour is and somthing goes wrong when she's mixing the color and therefore it turns his hair a nasty blond colour. Worse yet, he has to go to work the next day like that.

Might as well make Hodges the miniature killer. He fits the profile perfectly. It would make a great show and also make him disappear from now on.

"EXACTLY! I'm new to the boards and from what I've read, so far...this is the only post that mentions Hodges as the Miniature Killer! I've suspected him for a few episodes...especially after watching "Leaving Las Vegas"." Natalie Davis is the miniature killer, not Hodges.

"he is some times kinda boaring!! i dont think about him as a big main character, because i dont like him a lot, well i acctually dont like him at all!!!!!! i dont know very many pepole that like him!!!!!!!" I would have to agree with CaptainSpaz; Hodges is anything but boring. Sure, he can be a kiss-ass at times, but he's nowhere near boring. He's not one of my favorite characters, but I still like him and he's a key character in the show.

I think that on any other forensic show a Hodges-like character would have been a one dementional stereotype. The CSI writers, however, have (albiet subtley) show that there is more underneath. I've noticed that on other forensic dramas like Bones or NCIS, the characters are, at the most, two dementional. They are defined by a set of character traits and aren't alowed to grow. CSI, on the other hand, shows it's characters growing over the years, especially Nick and Greg. I didn't use to like Hodges. But this past season, especially with "Empty Eyes" and "Lab Rats," I can see that underneath the wise cracking, attention seeking exterior is the genuine desire to do the right thing and he is quickly becoming one of my favorite characters. With a cast as large as CSI's, it's hard to focus on everyone but I hope the writers develop Hodges' character even more.

I agree one hundred percent. Hodges isn't just the comic relief any more, he's beginning to show that he actually IS as brilliant as he seems to think he is! Several times he has come up with the case breaker or the saving grace of a situation. And yes it's nice to see that beneath that arrogant exterior there is an insecure man.
I too like the fact that characters can develop and are allowed to do so. Especially Hodges and Nick, I think those two have really changed over the seasons. Nick could have easliy just been the lab tottie, a two dimensional ladies' man with no real character, but he now goes far deeper than that.
I hope they continue with Hodges the same way (not the ladies' man thing though, that's just wrong lol!).

...I get this nasty feeling, he's a dead man. After the cliffhangers of previous seasons, and the sheer scope of the MIiniature Killer storyline (stretching the lengt of practically the entire season), I think the makers are ging to want to let this one end on a very big bang. The fact that David had his one 'lucky day' after being repeatedly dismissed by the whole CSI crew, plus the not-so-subtle scene where they ring the MK's cellphone with David's (doh! Nice one, Wendy!), I suspect we have our next victim - just think, the first big fatality in the CSI family since Season 1. How hardcore would that be??
So long Hodges, you annoying little twerp, you. We'll miss ya...
