Placebo - Running Up That Hill

Plot of primary crime:

Victim: Hampton Huxley
Path of evidence: Huxley found dead in restaurant called "Blind" where you eat in the dark.

Dead ends:

Plot of secondary crime:

Victim: Vincent Bartley
Path of evidence: Bartley's head found on the side of the road, and later his body found elsewhere.
Dead ends: CSIs took Bartley to be buried in a nearby grave.

Best cringe-inducing scenes:
The boy's head and arm are blown off by the exploding tire.

Classic quips:
Ecklie: When did you become...intimate...?
Sara: Two years ago, I think it was a Sunday...

LATER

Ecklie: When did you and Sara, you know?
Grissom: Nine years ago.
Ecklie: You two need to get your story straight.

AT THE END, IN GRISSOM'S CAR

Grissom: When did you tell Ecklie we got involved?
Sara: Two years ago (sees his reaction) Why? What did you tell him?
Grissom: Nine years ago.
Sara: (Starts giggling) The Forensic Academy conference?
Grissom: Yeah; (Sara keeps giggling) You had too many questions about anthropology for some reason.
Sara: Well, I was stalling, I was trying to get up the nerve to ask you to dinner.
Grissom: You had a ponytail.

Nick: You know, when I was a kid, we used to make these things out of lunch trays and you know, lawn mower engines.
Greg: When I was a kid I used to make bombs... little bombs.

Warrick: It's a crowded restaurant, somebody must have seen something.
Brass: Not exactly, welcome to the latest fad, dining in the dark. (presses a remote that makes the room pitch black) The waiters are blind. No one sees anything. Piece of cake, huh?
Beat
Catherine: Did he just leave?
Warrick: I think so.
David (anxiously): Uh, guys... I have a dead body here..

Nick: So, did Sara ever say anything to you about her and Grissom?
Greg: Not with so many words.
Nick: So, you knew about the two of them?
Greg: Yeah. (Nick looks shocked)

Lady: Oh my god, I can't even see it and it feels so big. The ring, I mean.

Nick: Nothing says "I'm guilty" like running from the cops, dumbass!

Greg: People's heads don't just fly off for no reason.

New Character Info:

  • Warrick is divorcing Tina
  • Nick is a little mad that he didn't know about Sara and Grissom
  • Super Dave's tradition for males in his family involves a certain 'magazine'

Aha! moments:

  • Sara goes from night shift to swing because it is a conflict of interest for her to date her boss. She said she could "use some more daylight" in her life.

Romantic moments:
Warrick: Turn off the lights for a second
Catherine: (turns off lights, it is pitch black, she giggles) I'm sorry, but this is a stupid idea for a restaurant. I need to see what I'm eating.
Warrick: I can see just fine. (he is wearing night vision goggles)
Catherine: Where are you?
Warrick: (incredibly sexy voice) Right here.
Catherine: Oh. (turns on lights. they are almost nose to nose) Hi.
Warrick: Hi. (both smiling)

Grissom: When did you tell Ecklie we got involved?
Sara: Two years ago. Why? What did you tell him?
Grissom: Nine years ago.
Sara: (starts cracking up) The Forensic Academy Conference?
Grissom: Yeah. You had too many questions about anthropology, for some reason.
Sara: Well I was stalling. I was trying to get the nerve to ask you to dinner.
Grissom: You had a ponytail.
Sara: I'm gonna move to swing.
Grissom: We talked about this.
Sara: I know that you said that you would do it but I don't want to do that to the team. Besides, I am sure that I could use some more daylight in my life.

Sara persuades Grissom to race go carts with the rest of the team. Lots of banter!

Funny Moments:

Ecklie: Why didn't you just tell me?
Grissom: We didn't want you to know.
Ecklie: Don't most women like the world to know they're dating someone?
(Beat; Grissom stares at Ecklie)
Grissom: Where do you get your information about women, Conrad?

Ecklie: This is a formal inquiry. You and your supervisor were in violation of lab policy...
Sara (interrupting): Are.

Nick: You know when I was a kid we used to make these things out of lunch trays. You know lawn mowers?
Greg: When I was a kid I used to make bombs, little bombs.

Nick: Get out of the truck! Get out of the truck now! (while suspect is being cuffed) Nothing says "I'm guilty" like running from the cops, dumbass!

Cool Experiments:
Grissom, Nick, Greg, and ECKLIE test the theory that a piece of tire could decapitate a human. Result: Jello decapitation!

The head is bouncing around? It sounds like a orchestra or something like Beethoven or Mozart. So what is the song at the start when the head is bouncing?

funniest freaking episode i have ever seen,
minus the parts about sara moving to swing,
the bouncing head, though very fake for csi standards, had me rolling on the ground ,
especially as it followed ecklies moments of awkwardness on asking sara when her and grissom first slept together,
its like "Awkward" *BOUNCING HEAD*

anyway,
i think that this episode is tied to rashomama for the funniest episodes
