Synopsis:
A brutal murder is committed at an institute for the criminally insane. Grissom and Sara realize that only a handful of staff and inmates could be responsible for the murder.
Fan Rating: 8.6/10
Complete Episode Description (Spoilers):
Grissom and Sara investigate a murder taken place at an institute for the criminally insane. Most of the inmates have been charged due to violent rapes, child molestations, and even incest. The beginning of the episode shows the victim lying on the floor of his cell, apparently having had his head bashed in on his own cell floor. A nurse who works at the institute finds the body when starting her midnight shift. The suspects include the staff and the inmates of the institute. Sara has a particularly difficult time in processing this scene and interviewing the suspects. While taking DNA samples of the inmates, a seemingly unresponsive inmate lashes out at Sara, almost biting her hand. Later in the episode, one of the inmates, Adam Trent, locks himself alone in the nurse's station with Sara and threatens to kill her. When Sara is rescued, the Adam attempts suicide by taking his weapon and slicing his own throat. In the end of the episode, Sara and Grissom come to the conclusion that the Adam was once a victim of mother-son incest. Without the other staff knowing her identity due to her using her maiden name, Adam's mother, Joanne McKay, got a job as a nurse at the institute. She attempts to rekindle her romance with her son, but finds that Adam has interest in another inmate, Robbie Garson. The realization that her son has interest in another person drives her to kill Robbie.
Plot of primary crime:
Victim: Robbie Garson
Suspects: Staff and inmates of the institute
Path of evidence: Fellow inmate, Kenny Valdez sitting next to him covered in blood
Dead ends: Kenny suffers from Renfield's syndrome-he gets excited by the sight of blood. Robbie was violently attacked & Kenny had no blood splatter from an attack.

Classic quips:
Grissom: Crazy or not, here we come.
Sara: Crazy people do make me feel crazy.
Sara: Love your hair Leon. (Leon turns to see Sara and Brass standing at the window)
Leon: Thanks.
Sara: What do you got here? (Sara looks in the pill cup) Ibuprofen, laxative, aspirin. What are you treating exactly, schizophrenia or constipation?
Brass: Where are the real drugs Leon?
Sara: Crazy is as crazy does.
Dr. Al Robbins: Let's start with the stomach contents. They're fascinating. They reminded me of that scene in Jaws where Dreyfuss cuts open the shark's belly and all sorts of weird things come out.

Many reasons as to why I loved this episode.
1. Maybe it's because I love Sara Sidle and this episode was around her, just maybe. 2. The fact that they made this episode seem creepy and scary. 3. When Sara almost gets her throat slashed by Adam Trent. 4. The interesting ending. Seriously, this episode was amazing and I hope we see more of it.

Why was one of Sara's nails painted gold? I think it's her right index finger.
