Plot of primary crime:
Victim: Julie Stern, a woman in her early 50's. Found face up on her bed.
Path of evidence:Dead ends:
- 10ccs of urine were found in her stomach.
- There are 42 distinct laser burns on Julie Stern's body, indications of liver spot cosmetic treatment.
- She also exhibits mee's lines, a series of parallel horizontal white lines on her nails that indicate heavy metal poisoning.
Plot of secondary crime:
Grissom, Sara and Greg approach a house that has been tented for termites. Brass waits there and informs them that the exterminators discovered Elliot Beckman, 42, dead in the family room.
Victim: Elliot Beckman, 42.
Path of evidence:Dead ends:
- Dead bugs
- Broken eyeglasses
- Displaced floor rugs
- Vomit
- Long, thin blue feathers on the floor
- Bruise on victim's cheek

Nick: I don't get it. These woman, the time, the pain, the effort. For what? Smooter skin? Please.
Catherine: Make a muscle Nicky.
Nick: What?
Catherine: Roll up your sleeve, make a muscle. (he rolls up his sleeve and makes a muscle and Catherine feels it and is impressed) Now how much time went into this? I'm gonna guess 5 days at the gym, low carb, low fats, slow burn, and for what, Nicky? For what?
Nick: That's a good point but it's not the same thing.
Catherine: No. It's nice, though.
Nick: Well, thanks, I'm not even flexing it yet either.
Catherine: Really? But it's rock hard.
David (appears in doorway holding a purse): Sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt... barge in.
Nick: No, no, it's all right, Super Dave. Nice purse.
Sara: What are you doing with potassium nitrate?
Grissom: I'm making a bomb. Two bombs, actually.
(He takes a scoop of sugar and adds it to the mix)
Sara: And sugar. You're making sweet bombs?
Grissom: I'm making smoke bombs.
(Processing the victims house)
Nick: Do you uh, think these supplements really work?
Catherine: Why you askin' me?
Nick: I'm just askin' a question, Catherine.
Catherine: Scientifically, there's not a whole lot of evidence. (they continue to process and Catherine finds more beauty products)
Nick: More lotions and potions.
Catherine: You gonna ask me if these work too?
Nick: No. I'm gonna go process the bathroom
