After high school, he traveled from city to city playing music in clubs and developing an addiction to both alcohol and drugs. He was held up by a drug fiend and realized he'd be ashamed to die at that moment, having done nothing with his life. He changed his mind about drugs, got out of the music industry, and pursued a career in acting and modeling.

When he was 6, his older brother was murdered by being pushed off a balcony when he was on a vacation in Haiti. The case is still unsolved.

That had to be hard...I can't imagine anything like that...especially having a brother murdered.
