  • Guilfoyle studied at the prestigious Actors Studio and appeared in a number of notable theater productions, both on and off Broadway, including a supporting role alongside Al Pacino in a staging of David Rabe's The Basic Training of Pavlo Hummel.

  • When he was 19 and doing his very first play in a small theater, a bus with 40 fans of Paul Guilfoyle turned up, hoping to see their favorite actor. He had to explain to them that Paul Guilfoyle had been dead for 12 years.

It just wouldn't be CSI without Brass' humor. I love watching Brass and Grissom play off each other. Or Brass playing off any of the more idiotic criminals. His wit is something to behold. If another actor was playing him, we'd be stuck with just another cop on the show. Kudos to Paul.

CSI is a much better programme when Jim Brass is in the storylines. I cannot imagine anyone else playing this part such is the strength of Paul Guilfoyles character. Paul G is a wonderful actor who up until now has been truly unappreciated. Paul G brings much needed humour to the show..his one liners are beautifully timed and executed...CSI would not be the same without him and I thank Paul Guilfoyle for this amazing character that is Captain Jim Brass...love every performance.
