More information about me...Well, I am Chemist, with a MSc in Analitycal Chemistry. I live on the road, I travel all over Latinamerica due my job. In some cases I even have to work with real CSIs and when that happen, I love it... One of my expertises in forensics is related with GSR, well the real one, Gun Shot Residue analysis, using ICP-MS. Well, I am expert in LA-ICP-MS for forensics...if you want to know a little bit more, just let me know... I used to work a lot with GC-MS too, drug analysis. I can disassembly and reassembly the same GC-MS they have in the lab. I have a bunch of stories related with my job, but the most funnies are the ones that happened in forensics labs.
One of my anecdotes, I was in Guatemala working in a forensic lab, was Dec 22, the people from the lab were to a Xmas party and they forgot me, they locked the door with me inside...I was in a forensic lab with plenty of drugs around me and a lot of biopsies...freaky, they rescued me 5 hours later, after the party finished. FYI, I don't do drugs, I never did, I just can analize them.
Other anecdote, I was working in one forensics lab in Venezuela. They recovered 1 ton cocaine and they closed it in the lab were I was installing an instrument. The drug was everywhere (we are not talking labs like CSI with vaults and that kind of security). One ton of cocaine smell a lot but after all I was fine...a friend said that I called her very high...I swear I didn't notice anything just a huge headache at night...
When I am not traveling, I just go to the beach and I love to look the people, I create stories of their lifes in my mind, just a funny exercise. I born in Venezuela but all my family is from Italy. Now I live alone in North Miami Beach...well when I am not traveling.
I think I decided to be Chemist because of this old series Quincy, I love it... but I didn't have the guts to be a coroner. Now CSI is the only TV series that I really follow.
Anybody interested in talk about CSI and GSR, please be my guest. Well, I can talk a little bit about anything...

Love Sonnet XVII by Pablo Neruda
I do not love you as if you were a salt rose, or topaz or the arrow of carnations the fire shoots off. I love you as certain dark things are to be loved, in secret, between the shadow and the soul.
I love you as the plant that never blooms but carries in itself the light of hidden flowers; thanks to your love a certain solid fragrance, risen from the earth, lives darkly in my body.
I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride; So I love you because I know no other way
than this: where I does not exist, nor you, so close that your hand on my chest is my hand, so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep.
"Ven... duerme conmigo y no hagamos el amor; dejemos que el amor nos haga"
Julio Cortazar
Come...sleep with me and don't make love; let the love make us
Last but not least, I want to introduce part of my family. From left to right, my cousin Mena, my younger nephew Alex (the hugger), Mena's son Danilo, Mena's dauther Manuela, her daughter Jazmin, and the most important person in my life, my mom
My second trip this year to an USA city was Chicago, and here I am in the Museum of Science and Industry to visit CSI The Experience. For me was disappointing but I am not fair evaluating it...I am chemist, I worked in forensics labs. If I can suggest something, it will have different levels of difficulty for the different visitors. Overall the experience was nice.
And as a strange coincidence, my third trip in the USA was to Boston (my travels are usually Latinamerica or Europe, not USA)...and of course CSI The Experience was in the Museum of Science... Well, here you can see a slide show with the miniatures. Just one word to describe them: AMAZING!!!
I envy your life. It sounds alot like the life i hope to some day have. Your job, and traveling.... I'm starting school at the end of this month, and I'm in a toss up as to what i want to be. It's between a dental hygienist or a forensic lab technician. Then after helping my roommate take care of her battle wound (c-section opening) . Her and i were joking around when she said," if you can stomach this... then you can do anything." Then i got to thinking maybe i could be a coroner?! LOL! Well, her whole pregnancy was a true blue learning experience for me and i wouldn't trade it for the world. I just wish i could have been in the O.R. with her when he was born.
Ok. so let me get to my point. B/C i could fill your whole profile up with the story of my and my roomies dramatic life. Any pointers on how to get into the field. The little that i have been looking into has been rather discouraging. I have looked for jobs that are related and no luck. then i spoke to my college counselor and he said that I would probably have to move out of state for my internship. I dont know if i like that idea. so everything i've heard and looked at has pointed me towards dental hygein. less school, shorter and better hours, tons of advertised openings, i can stay in vegas near my family and close friends. Then If I do decide to move it would be just as easy to find a job in any other city. It's sound like i found my job, but it's not where my heart is! If you know what i mean? Dental hygien has 2 wide open doors and all i have to do is get good enough grades to walk through them. While I'm still digging for the lost key in forensic lab technician. I still have another year before i need to decide. Advise?
Now that I'm done rambling. I'll e-mail you a few of my collages. All of which i love putting on my desktop for wallpaper. The e-mail alerts still are not working so feel free to respond in an e-mail.

Anarita your profile like yourself is colourful, and full of life. I am glad you found your calling in life and that it takes you all over. I must admit to a pang or two of the green eyed monster for your travels.
My own background is not as exotic I am married to an octegeren and we have been together for 15 happy years. he like Grissom is the more romantic and me like Sara is the more pragmatic.
By profession I am a qualified nurse in the NHS in UK. I specialise in ortho/trauma (RTA patients, broken bones, non accidental injury causing broken bones.)
I have since seconded to a job as a Substance Abuse nurse in the Penal system and it is very interesting work
I wish you well in your ventures. gun shot victims are not that common in UK as our Gun Laws are so strict but we are having a little problem with some areas, however thankfully this is still so rare that it makes national news when someone has been shot dead, or is a victim of gun related crimes.
Hope to see you around the board

Ragazza, you've done a LOVELY job with your "home" here in our CSI wiki world! I love EVERYTHING about it, from your pictures of yourself to your GSR photos and sayings to your job description (I'm quite certain that your career causes you to be the envy of many, including me!)
Would you ever consider translating the Spanish phrases for folks like me for whom language is a challenge? This is only a suggestion, I certainly understand if you'd like to keep it the way it is.
Ciao, ciao, cara Ana Rita!
